On March 16, 2017 MAC: Modern Appealing Clothing filed a class action lawsuit against Ivanka Trump Marks, LLC for Unfair Competition. This made some people very angry. MAC received dozens of phone calls, yelp reviews, and Facebook comments that ranged from threatening and insulting to critical and hysterical. 

Some of these comments were memorialized in art and actions by Victoria Chaban, Mary Conrad, Dagmar Daley, Margeigh Novotny, Sam Tripodi, Vivian Walsh, Leigh Wells and Tracy Wheeler.
